why can’t the yeast touch the water?
First time using bread machine and I think I made the indention a little deeper than I thought. Is my bread ruined and not going to rise? It really isn’t a big deal as I am just doing a trial, nothing more. Just baking pre-mixed sourdough bread.
Ok, let me be a little more clear. The directions say to make a small indention and in the top of one side of the dough and add the yeast. Do not let it touch water.
I know the mixer is on the bottom…
Well its too late then because its on the basic baking cycle and I don’t think that is delayed baking.
That’s so the yeast doesn’t start blooming too early. When making homemade bread with a stand mixer, you add the yeast to the warm water first.
