If you want cookware that will last you a life-time, and price is not really a problem, and you don’t really need a huge matched set, take a look at AMC Cookware.
I’ve still got the fancy stuff people gave me when we got married 32 years ago, but this skillet, saucepan and stew/soup-size pot are the only ones I ever really use!
My sister-in-law loves her Le Creuset set, which she also uses to serve food at the table because they are attractive. I find them heavy, though.
