What diet can I put my 8 yr old male cat on that he will actually eat?
His urethra was blocked with crystals. Deli Cat is his fav and I read that it has too much calcium. We just caught it in time to save him. He refuses to eat the prescribed dry food from the vet as well as the wet. They must taste awful. He’s throwing up again and I don’t know if this condition is coming back. I can’t montitor his urination because he goes outside. I have him on Eckanuba hard food. The only wet food he’ll touch is Fancy Feast Beef Grilled. Any help would be appreciated.
if he throws up, maybe you should take him to the vet ( even to another vet for a second opinion). Maybe he is not vomiting because he doesn’t like the food…
YOu could keep him at home for a while to see about his urination. Get him a litter box and fill with “garden-earth”, if he is used to it.
To prevent dehydration: change his water very often to have it fresh, or give him at least 1x a day 25ml of water with a plastic syringe (without the needle lol)
The vet might give him some vitamines that will help him to have more appetite.
