new to longboarding (& skating in general?)?
I’m 15, female, and all of the sudden I have this interest in longboarding specifically. I’m looking for a longboard to ride from place to place, so nothing too crazy. Don’t care about tricks really xD I don’t even know what i’m looking for actually. totally clueless. xD Just want something that rides smooth, easy to learn on I guess? lol. I THINK I want one like this :

but that’s just cause I like how it looks.. the shape and length too. (does that ‘type’ of board have a name?)
SO, basically I would love some advice from experienced riders on brands, etc. anything you have to offer.
price range? well, i don’t have one right now as i’m just now looking into everything.. I really can’t afford anything TOO expensive. But then again I do realize that a good board cost good money, so eh :]

ahh yes longboarding. It’s coming in to the industry very quickly. And I find a lot more girls getting interested in it. Probably because your less likely to get hurt then regular skating. I’m a vert skater myself, don’t really like longboarding, to boring for me. haha! But I do however, know a lot about long boarding, my friends are really in to it. Santa Cruz. extremly nice brand. it’ll last you a LONG time. Sector 9, there pretty good too.as for trucks and stuff.. i couldnt tell ya. but what i suggest is you go to like Sports Authority or Big 5 first and get a 40 dollar board so you can find out if you even like it. and then, if you find that you really like it, go to your local skate shop and ask them what they think is best for you, explain how good you are, and what you like. they’ll be more then happy to help ya out if you spending money. DO NOT GO TO ZUMIEZ. just dont. they are EXTREMLY commercial and all they care about is money. they WILL take advantage of you and get as much money out of you as they can. Plus, they don’t even have as good as a selection as your local skate shop any ways, and certainly not as friendly. i could go on an on about why not to go to zumiez… but I won’t for your sake. Just take my word for it and don’t go there.
